2016 Domain of Singapore Tutoring Experts' List of "Exotic" Public Studying Areas |
---|
You no longer desire studying in tediously boring library spaces because you'd probably zone out in a few heartbeats, yet you feel Starbucks and various other chic cafes aren't safe havens like they were in the past, as an increasing number of members of the general public are getting peeved over your "one cuppa, my seat forever" antics. So where can you head to for clocking in your revision hours these days? We have some recommendations. Read on. 1. Royal Plaza On Scotts If you are an Orchard area junkie, you should have heard of this hotel. It is located directly opposite Far East Plaza, and a mere 5 min walk from ION@Orchard shopping mall. When night falls, especially after 10pm, the hotel lobby is observed to be thoroughly vacant on most days, so select your favourite sofa or armchair, plonk yourself down in it and get some serious studying done. There is a bus stop located right outside; from our understanding bus service 143 runs past midnight, so if you are staying in the Novena or Toa Payoh central region, this should make you grin like a Chesire cat. |
2. Great World City The storyline is pretty much the same at this shopping centre; after 10pm, welcome to a ghost town. Find yourself a spot to sit and dive into your books/lecture notes. If supper urges strike, there is a Mc Donald's at the 1st level, and it is open for business daily till 1 am in the morning. How many Homo Sapiens can you see in this photo? A literal ghost town-so are we right or are we right? |
3. Bugis+ Nope, we are not talking about Bugis Junction. We are talking about the shopping mall connected to Bugis Junction via an overhead pass, the one previously known as Iluma. As far as laying down your butt is concerned, you have lots of red metallic cuboid boxes to choose from at the third level, and some benches at the fifth. Sssh.....unbeknownst to many, there are also sweet spots at the 7th floor, such as this one: So picturesque, so tranquil. |
4. Hotel Boss Want to study like a boss? Then check out Hotel Boss. On level 4, there are no lack of pavilions for one to just kick back and relax in. Hell, the swimming pool is situated right smack in front of these cozy sheltered areas. Maybe a study-cation is in order; after all it costs only slightly more than a hundred bucks for a night at this boutique hotel. Clarification: we are not affiliated with Hotel Boss. Wanna relax after studying too hard? This pool looks sooooo inviting.

Remember, always observe proper decorum when studying in these public areas; when you need to walk away, WALK AWAY. Being confrontational is pure stupidity. HAVE FUN, AND GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR TESTS/EXAMS! |
