Assignment of senior principals to neighbourhood schools-a case of musical chairs?

Earlier this month the Ministry of Education announced the reshuffling of various school heads which will see certain neighbourhood schools getting helmed by more popular, senior-ranked principals. Is this a step closer towards realizing the lofty goal of "Every School a Good School? " A netizen who goes by the online moniker Princess is somewhat a little undecided:

"Not a very big jump...under the primary sch, I don't see those super-top pri sch principals appointed to helm neighbourhood schs. Only a few famous ones stood out, like Maha Bodhi, Kong Hwa principals appointed to lesser known pri schools. The rest are pretty on par in terms of popularity and standard, so it's just like "musical chairs" to me, followed by the promotion of VPs to Ps in affected schools. Is this in support of 'Every School is a Good School"?

If you move say HPPS Principal to head Edgefield Pri Sch or swop Jurong West Pri Sch Principal with say Rosyth, then I'd agree there's a quantum leap...

But the move is in the right direction. It's like deploying the top/reputable CEOs like Marissa Mayers to save an ailing / stagnant organization. Not so sure about the opposite.

Wonder how do those principals who were replaced by the well-regarded ones feel ? Insulted?"
