2020 Domain of Singapore Tutoring Experts' List of "Exotic" Public Studying Areas |
---|
As of this writing (14 August 2020), Singapore is well into the second phase of reopening its already thoroughly devastated economy; barring another wretched COVID-19 resurgence, we steadfastly pray 'em past few agonizing "circuit breaker" months and lonesome HBL (home-based learning) moments are forever behind us. A breath of fresh air thus takes on a whole new literal meaning - evident from folks scrambling to escape those 4 walls and a roof by venturing just about anywhere lest they lose their marbles entirely. Dear student, if you happen to be amongst them, that's only because thou art human. Admit it, studying outside these days never felt so good yes? Like previous editions, we shall once again serve up a curated list of untraditional yet properly conducive locations where you can settle down pronto and subsequently get lost deep in revision....... 1.Kallang Wave Mall, Levels 1 And 2 A whole collection of tables and benches exist right beside one sprawling NTUC Fairprice Xtra store (which therefore means you can conveniently refuel when hunger pangs strike); in addition whimsically sculpted seats scattered throughout this double storey, 41,000 sqm sports themed retail complex await more resilient, adventurous butts we shit you not. Regardless, steer clear of monkeying around and focus, focus FOCUS. |
2. Paya Lebar Quarter, Levels B2-4 Officially opened late last year, this suburban mall hasn't exactly flourished since, still it registers decent footfall during most afternoons and early evenings. Beyond 8pm however, things quieten considerably - so troop over then, deploy someplace cozy onsite and giddyup. |
3. Braddell Heights Community Hub Spartan and desolate best describe the building's upkeep, so much so you'd reckon this was a filming location for the silent hill movies. Secure yourself front row (or backyard) seats and go to town on those textbooks/notes. PS: Do note NEX shopping centre operates next door. |
4. Suntec City, Level B1 The colorful lair photographed above isn't known to many yet, for obvious reasons you might therefore wish to remain tightlipped about its presence. Exact location: East Wing, #B1-102 (wedged between Ya Kun Family Cafe and ASTONS Specialities).

Remember, always observe proper decorum when studying in these public areas; when you need to walk away, WALK AWAY. Being confrontational is pure stupidity. HAVE FUN, AND GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR TESTS/EXAMS! |
