2024 Domain of Singapore Tutoring Experts' List of "Exotic" Public Studying Areas |
---|
Welcome yet to another edition of you-know-what, where we scour infinitesimal Singapore high and low just for your, well, benefit. Till today, we find ourselves piqued by how countless venues whether long-standing or otherwise (which would certainly constitute excellent revision spots) still remain tucked under the radar, even though we'd like to imagine our cumulative dredging endeavors over the past 10+ years already helped illuminate a significant number. Then again, the more the merrier aye? So here it is - 2024's enumeration of exquisite turfs worth hunkering down for, libraries be damned: 1. Along Tampines Street 91 This stubby, greened up curvilinear stretch with a petrol kiosk and neighbourhood police post planted at each end hosts several open-air seats ranging from standard cool blue benches to rock-steady pavilions. When you desire a little timeout after pounding them books hard, there's always miniature supertrees à la Gardens by the Bay happening right beside that will instantly help rejuvenate senses foc. Now, are you sold or are you sold? |
2. One Holland Village, Level 4 Unbeknownst to many, the relatively new One Holland Village shopping mall (opened 1 December 2023) has an expansive al fresco chill-out zone aptly named Village Commons on its top floor. Quite some variety of accoutrements scattered all throughout amidst lush, scripted frondescence beckons, therefore go ahead and really make yourself at home. Separately, do note OHV's 100% pet-friendly policy, hence meaning your beloved golden retriever, pomeranian or whatever furry pal can accompany too on study pilgrimages. Fyi Village Comons operates daily 8am-10pm. |
3. Kim Keat Beacon Contiguous to the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) lies Kim Keat Beacon, a public housing development within Toa Payoh comprising three HDB blocks plus one elephantine, grossly underused children's playground/ fitness corner/ garden trail, the latter being more than capable of serving as your perennial sanctuary - except during Saturday and Sunday evenings when weekend warriors typically descend in hordes. |
4. Telok Blangah Drive, Behind Blk 47 Which might you deem more up your alley: rest shack or amphitheatre? Either way, set up camp accordingly and......get cracking. Should a severe bout of the munchies take hold, remember an NTUC outlet is but across the road.

Remember, always observe proper decorum when studying in these public areas; when you need to walk away, WALK AWAY. Being confrontational is pure stupidity. HAVE FUN, AND GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR TESTS/EXAMS! |
